6.25 PM IST| That's the end from our side as well. This is Tugral Azmi signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer/analyst Raju. Thank you for joining us from all around the globe. Do join us for the second game of today's doubleheader from Maharaja T-20. Until then Ta-Ta, Bye-Bye.
Gowtham(Player of the match and Skipper of Striker's):"The boys expressed themselves. I just told them that we can't go anymore down, so just do your best. Boys are very young and don't have a lot of experience. Hopefully, they'll come good in the coming seasons. We have a balanced side, it's just that we didn't click at the right time (beginning of the tournament). I just back myself. I just stuck to the basics and it worked. Hopefully, we can express ourselves in the next game as we did today."
Tugral: Shivamogga Strikers team registered their second win in the Maharaja's Cup in the form of a spectacular victory and defeated Mangalore United by 8 wickets. They were tested a bit early during the run-chase, but Hoover and Gowtham made sure the target was achieved without breaking too much sweat at the end. Mangalore United would be completely disappointed with their batting performance and it was here that they lost the game despite trying to fight with the ball.
Skippers Krishnappa Gowtham and Stallin Hoover took charge after Sharath was dismissed cheaply. Shivamogga Strikers got off to a scintillating start while chasing a total of 137 runs, Hoover and Gowtham looked in a good touch they stitched a partnership of 129 runs for the second wicket. Both the batters scored 68 runs on the board during the powerplay at a brisk rate, which made the match as easy as possible. Gautam played brilliant innings of 72 runs in 32 balls for his team. Staillin also supported him from the other side and he scored an unbeaten 53 runs in a very aggressive manner. Shashi Kumar caught Gowtham in his spin and showed him the way to the pavilion. Krishnamurthy and Hoover took the team to the target of victory.
However, Mangalore United could win the game if their bowling side makes early breakthroughs. But today's performance from their bowlers was ordinary. Sharath was an effective and impactful bowler throughout the innings. He took one wicket and Shashi Kumar also took one wicket. Shivamogga Strikers have spoiled Mangalore United's party with this defeat.
