Karun Nair (Winning Captain): Very close. To start off the batters coming lower down in the order gave us that score to defend. And then the bowlers stepped up. All I asked for was wickets from our bowlers. [On his dismissal] It was just there for everyone to see. I hope something is done about my dismissal because we need good cricket to be played. We are very happy with the way we are playing. It is about playing as a team and putting in the effort. Someone or the other steps up in every game and that works. We have the best sponsors and franchise owners. I want to thank them and their staff for giving us everything. The way we started, there was something on the wicket for the fast bowlers. I always thought we were in the game after getting 145.
Vidyadhar Patil | Player of the Match: "The pitch was helping. The ball was moving and the captain supported me nicely tonight. I enjoyed bowling on this wicket."
Vidyadhar Patil is the Player of the Match.
Time for the post-match presentation.
Vatsal: The Mysore Warriors have won this encounter beating Hubli Tigers by 2 runs.
Having put the Mysore Warriors into Bat 1st, The Tigers got to a terrific start with the ball as they picked up 3 wickets for just 5. Deshpande and Hedge put on a decent partnership of 54. Hedge got out at the wrong time for 22. Gopal went soon after for a duck. Shivraj contributed with 26 and Dhuri got a quick 18. Deshpande played almost through the innings as he scored 57 off 51 balls to get the Mysore Warriors to 145 for 8 in their 20 overs.
The Hubli Tigers were excellent with the ball. V Koushik picked 3 wickets and was the star of the show. Goud, Naveen MG and Yelave got a wicket piece. R Naveen got 2 but was expensive as they kept the Warriors to 145.
Chasing 146, The Tigers got off to a poor start losing 3 in the powerplay. Sisodia(22) and Sharath(21) held the innings for a while. The middle order did not contribute much. A Mithun with 27 and Sharan Goud with 31 off 22 played some nice shots at the end to reduce the margin of defeat.
The Mysore Warriors bowling was outstanding well led by V Patil who got 4-24 supported by A Goyal and S Gopal who got 2 a piece. S Hedge picked up 1 in his spell as they restricted the Tigers to 143 and got a hard-fought win by 2 runs.
A close encounter at the end which look dead and buried 2 overs ago. A tough win for the Mysore Warriors.
