Melbourne Stars Women won the toss and elected to bowl first, after some brilliant bowling early on to dismiss the top order cheaply, Webb and Dooley went on a 50 run-stand which laid down the platform for Sarah Coyte to power her team over the 145 run-mark.
Dooley top scored for the Renegades, smashing 54 runs off 46 deliveries ensuring her team ended up with 148/8 after their 20 overs. Moloney was the pick of the bowlers as her excellent spell got rewarded with 4/15 from her 4 overs while Sutherland chipped in with 3/37 from her 4 overs.
Come the chase, much of the innings was dominated by the bowlers of Melbourne Renegades, keeping the batters in check and the run rate low. However, things changed once the power surge clicked in and Sutherland took charge of the innings.
The swashbuckling batter smashed 62 runs off just 29 balls, an innings that included 5 MAXIMUMS and 3 BOUNDARIES to take her team to victory! With 20+ runs required off the last over, Sutherland kept smashing in the midst of a bowler replacement due to injury to the Renegades' skipper Sophie Molineux.
