Another match in the Women's Big Bash League succumbs to rain. This time at the CitiPower Centre, St. Kilda as the Sydney Sixers get no result against the Melbourne Renegades. The Sixers won the toss and decided to bowl first which didn't prove to be a great call as the Renegades openers Hayley Matthews (40 off 41) and Chamari Athapaththu (16* off 24) got a steady start as they added 60 runs for the first wicket.
Erica Kershaw played just a single delivery and got a boundary off it. Ashleigh Gardner picked up the solitary wicket in the 11th over of the innings when the rain started to get huge and the players were taken out of the field despite playing through a drizzle.
Melbourne Renegades now have 5 points from 10 matches as they take the seventh spot in the ladder. Sydney Sixers at the other hand are placed second with both teams getting one point each in this fixture. Sixers have 13 points to their name with 6 wins and one rained out fixture.
