Opting to bat first, the Kiwi Women's side was under the pump immediately, thanks to Katherine Brunt's special with the new ball. The veteran fast bowler dismissed Sophie Devine and Amelia Kerr through beautiful in-swingers.
They didn't recover from here as they lost wickets at clusters handing an easy target for the hosts. Maddy Green (19 off 24) and Hannah Rowe (10 off 18) did get into the double digits but failed to leave any impression. They crawled their way to 71/9 in their allotted 20 overs.
