Well a thrilling match has come to an end and Lions end their season on a high. This is Anirudh Modi, signing off with my co-commentator Ajay Ahire. It was a pleasure to bring you this match live. Do join us for other matches!
Malusi Siboto(Bowler of the match): I tried to keep it as simple as possible. The wicket was on a slower side but tried to use some variations and got the success. The plan was very clear to hit the right areas and did that. Happy that I contributed to the team efforts and hopefully replicate that in the future.
Mitchell Van Buuren, Batter of the match: "It was very challenging, a low scoring game. The key was batting deep and take the team home. This was the plan at the end after Reeza got out and I'm happy we have executed it well."
Time for the post match presentation
With that four Knights gets a win here as they beat the Lions by 5 wickets. Brilliant batting from Buuren at the end and he was the main architect on this win for the Knights. He remained unbeaten on the score of 67 from 55 balls. But unfortunately, they won't make it to the semi-finals as they failed to grab the bonus point in this match. Same story for the Lions as they will also finish their campaign here. Great game of cricket this but in the end, it was Buuren who kept his nerves in control and took his team over the winning line.
Chasing 128 they got a similar start as the opposition off to in the first innings. As Knights lost Dadswell on the score of 1 at the start. Rapulana who batted really well throughout this season can't make any difference as he was sent back by Mothoa on the score of 2. Reeza Hendricks on the other end was ticking the scoreboard regularly but he lost his wicket in the middle overs as Mothoa picked up his wicket on the score of 34. Dominic Hendricks and Sisanda Magala couldn't do anything with the bat as they were sent back cheaply by the Lions. Buuren was the stand-out batter for the Knights. He batted really well and assess the situation really well and played according to the match situation and took his team over the winning line.
4 FOURRR!!! AND THAT'S THE MATCH FOR LIONS! VAN BUUREN GETS THEM HOME! Van Burren take a bow man! What a brilliant knock to save his team from the jaws of defeat! Pulls away a half tracker through mid-wicket for the winning shot!
