It's all over here at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur and Himachal Pradesh has entered the finals now. They are the first team to qualify for the finals in this season of Vijay Hazare Trophy. Both the teams competing today have never qualified for the final of this trophy ever. Hence, it's an even special feeling for this Himachal side to make it till the end. They deserve all the credit for this stunning all round performance.
Himachal Pradesh started off good with the bat. A little slow wicket but they knew how to score big on this. Prashant Chopra played a great knock of 78 along with Digvijay Rangi who scored 37 as well. A couple of wickets in the middle overs but then came the man, Rishi Dhawan, who played a great innings of 84 runs and of course a quick fire innings Akash Vasisht came in handy too. Himachal Pradesh finished off with 281-6 in their 50 overs.
In reply, Services started of very slow and kept losing wickets. There was never a point in the game where they seemed to dominate. Rajat Paliwal the top scorer with 55 runs played a good knock but nobody else managed to build up a partnership and finish off on a good note. A suicidal run out from Lohchab, there was never a run there! Credit goes to Himachal bowlers as well, Rishi Dhawan got 4 wickets, Sidharth Sharma and Akash Vasisht got a couple of breakthroughs too.
HPCA will be delighted with this performance and to see their team in the finals of Vijay Hazare for the first time will double fold their excitement. It's not the end and we will have the second semi final too followed by the final. Stay tuned for further games!
