Katie Mack has been adjudged the Player of the Match for her unbeaten 54 off 48 balls. She really played well today and made it easy for Strikers over Heat.
That's it, ladies and gentlemen. A comfortable win for the Adelaide Strikers as they thrash second-placed Brisbane Heat by 8 wickets with 28 balls to spare. A professional performance by Tahlia McGrath and her girls. Brisbane Heat struggling with the bat for two days in a row. But a useful knock from Mack unbeaten 54 got the job done alongside her captain Tahlia McGrath as they shared an unbeaten 88 for the 3rd wicket.
Earlier today, Brisbane struggled to get going in their 94-7. Nobody really got going apart from maybe Kimmince at the end. Bowlers especially Wellington bowled really in her 2 wickets ably supported by the others around her. Strikers are getting the momentum at the right time as they consolidate their position at the top4. They go up to 13 points with that win.
The heat stays in 2nd place, a wake-up call for them as they fail to get past Renegades at the top. They are still in 2nd place. Strikers get their 4th win in a row. The skipper today playing second fiddle in that partnership remaining unbeaten on 31 off 44 balls. Both the wickets were taken by Sippel for Heat. 94 was never going to be enough and it proved that today. The positions remain unchanged but Adelaide creates a distance from the chasing pack.
Stick around to find out who won the Player of the Match award.
16.2 P Yadav to K Mack
4 FOUR!!! That's the end of the game and fittingly Mack hits the winning runs. Dances down the track against the tossed up delivery and lifts it nicely over mid on for a boundary. With this, the Adelaide Strikers beat Brisbane Heat comprehensively. They win the game by 8 wickets with 22 balls to spare.
16.1 P Yadav to K Mack
0 Tossed up outside off, Mack steps out and drives but finds covers.
