This will be all from us tonight. Do not forget to join us tomorrow for the El Classico game between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Until then stay safe, stay indoors. This is Vikhyat Jain who is signing off on behalf of Anurag Singh and Karthik Raj. Cheers!!!
Harpreet Brar | MoM: I hail from Moga district. I am sure the people back home would be proud and happy. I wasn't overwhelmed when Kohli hit me because a bowler always gets a second chance to come back. My first IPL wicket was Kohli's wicket and that was very special. It came out in a flow after that, your body opens up, you get confident and things fall in place. When I came out to bat, I had the time to wait for a couple of overs.
Man of the Match: Harpreet Brar
Vikhyat: RCB was once again plagued by the same old problem of their's- if the big guns like- Kohli, ABD, and this time Maxwell also fails to deliver, the game is pretty much over for the red outfit. RCB will look back with some introspection to be done and need to keep this game behind them and march ahead. Whereas Punjab hopefully shifts gears in front with this win and step up the ladder ahead.
Vikhyat: Losing the toss and batting first, PBKS did decently well to post a target of 180 runs which were always going to be tricky even for a heavy batting line-up of RCB due to the sluggish nature of the deck. KL Rahul essayed perfectly the role of the captain and held the one end and made sure there was no middle-muddle. In the end, his unbeaten 91* along with Gayle's storm of 46 runs off just 24 balls made Punjab's 1st innings total look formidable. But it was all an important cameo of 25* runs from Harpreet Brar that shifted the momentum towards Punjab ahead of the start of the 2nd innings.
Vikhyat: If Ravindra Jadeja's show in the last game against RCB was of a lion's, Harpreet Brar's efforts were nothing short of a lion's cub. First, with the bat, he gave the right impetus to the descending innings of Punjab along with his skipper KL Rahul and then, later on, the major destruction was being done with the ball. He plucked out the three most important wickets of the match- Virat Kohli, Glen Maxwell, and AB de Villiers in no time. Along with him was the other spinner, Ravi Bishnoi who once again was phenomenal with his tight line and length and didn't give the batsmen the room to breathe. He too scalped two crucial wickets in his last over. To encapsulate, a complete team effort saw the team of Punjab through the line and with these two important points has jumped to the fifth position in a tightly stacked up table.
Vikhyat: So, Punjab Kings have done a CSK here and Harpreet Brar has done a Ravindra Jadeja here to the same foes. RCB has scripted the same story of the match they played a few days back against CSK. They are once again emphatically taken down by the roaring Kings of Punjab and what was an amazing start to this tournament for RCB, seems like the other way around in the last few matches. Punjab has crushed RCB by 34 runs and that margin could have been more had not been Jamieson and Harshal's few lusty strokes down the order.
