Milestone
Well, that's it from the first game of the doubleheader Wednesday as SRH beat Punjab by nine wickets. Hope you all enjoyed the coverage. This was Arjun, signing off along with my co-commentators, Nikhil Kulkarni and Somya Kapoor. Tune in to the live coverage for the second game of the day to be held between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Arjun: In the process, Bairstow scored a well-composed 56-ball 63 to help his franchise open their IPL 2021 account with a dominant performance.
Arjun: Warner played one too many shots and mistimed one delivery from Allen and SRH lost their first wicket in the eleventh over. Then came out Williamson to join hands with Bairstow and the pair lay the path for SRH to get their first two points. The pair stitched a match-sealing stand of 48 runs to finish off the game with 8 balls remaining.
Arjun: Sunrisers Hyderabad had a mere total of 121 runs to chase but this Chennai pitch has shown, any total can be defended here. However, the Orange Army had some different plans. Warner and Bairstow started the party with some bashing. In no time, the duo scored 73 runs but a twist in the tale was awaiting.
Sunrisers Hyderabad register their maiden point on the table as they have crushed Punjab Kings by nine wickets in hand.
18.5 Arshdeep Singh to Kane Williamson
WD Arshdeep bowls a wide and that will be enough for SRH to get their first win of the tournament. Back of a length ball slower one but this has gone very wide. Relief for SRH and the fans who have been waiting for a win from sometime now.
18.4 Arshdeep Singh to Jonny Bairstow
1 Scores are level! Length ball outside off, Bairstow has lot of time to cut this one to deep cover and takes a single
ArjuN: Another catch went through the hands. This has been Punjab's story throughout the day.
18.3 Arshdeep Singh to Jonny Bairstow
2 DROPPED!!! Tries to finish off the innings, full length ball outside off, drives it in the air to mid-off. Hooda runs to his right to catch that one but fails to hold onto it
18.2 Arshdeep Singh to Jonny Bairstow
6 SIX!!! That should seal the win for SRH! In the slot outside off and Bairstow gets on the front foot and clobbers this one over the cow corner boundary. Rahul is disappointed.
