Jason Roy: Yeah, had lot of fun. There was no real gameplan, just went there to slog it. Tried to pick the right bowlers and there was that very short boundary on one side. We have been searching for that one performance where we ticked all the boxes. Today was probably that.
Jason Roy has been named as the 'Man of the Match'.
The equation finally came down to 17 off the last five balls but Tom Curran deceived Rashid Khan with a slower delivery. In the end, Curran held his nerve and won the game for Oval Invincibles!!
Sunil Narine came back and bowled the dangerous Hales in the sixth set of five. The score soon became 42-4 as Narine got the better of Tom Moores too. Samit Patel looked good for a 15-run cameo but Tabraiz Shamsi got the better of him. Shamsi also bagged his second by dismissing Steven Mullaney. The Trent Rockets skipper Lewis Gregory gave some hope along with Rashid Khan as the duo muscled the ball over the fence.
That is it! Tom Curran seals an impressive nine-run win for Oval Invincibles. The margin of victory might be small in the end but Oval dominated this 126-run defense for the majority of it. Sunil Narine gave the perfect start to Oval as he removed D'Arcy Short for a duck. Alex Hales didn't take long to find the fence but Dawid Malan struggled at the other end. Eventually, Malan got out for six off seven balls to become Tom Curran's first wicket.
