Anurag D: That's it from the comm box. A big thank you for joining us for this coverage. Stay tuned for the next game scheduled at 7:30 pm IST. Till then, bbyee from me, and my co-commentators, Anurag Singh, Karthik and Somya.
Anurag D: Babar Azam was awarded the player of the match award for his scintillating knock of 91.
Anurag D: Chasing 196 on a flat Karachi track, Sharjeel Khan and Babar Azam gave Karachi Kings just the ideal start they would have wanted. The duo added 56 for the first wicket before Sharjeel Khan was outfoxed by Shahnawaz Dhani. Then it was time for the Babar-Clarke show as the duo tore apart the Multan Sultans' bowling line-up. Joe Clarke was the aggressor initially as the Englishman scored 54 off just 26 deliveries at a strike rate of 207. He was dismissed by a peach of a delivery by Shahnawaz Dhani. The finishing touches to the innings was provided by Babar Azam who scored a magnificent 91 of a mere 60 balls to take his side across the line.
Anurag D: Earlier in the day, Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first. Chris Lynn got the Sultans off to a flier as the Australian started smoking the bowlers right from the word go. He was particularly severe on Mohammad Amir and never allowed him to settle in properly. Just when Lynn looked set for a big score, he was dismissed by Imad Wasim for a well compiled 32. All the Sultan batters got a start, but none of them went on to score big. As a result they were restricted for 195 for the loss of 6 wickets.
Anurag D: That's it! The match has ended and Karachi Kings have won this match with 7 balls to spare. It has been a dominant performance by the defending champions and they have outplayed the Sultans in all departments of the game. The win takes Karachi to the top of the table for time being.
Somya: BAD BAD BAD bowling from Sohali Khan...He should have continued with those fuller, slower balls outside off stump...Having said that, Karachi are the winners.
18.5 Sohail Khan to Babar Azam
4 What a way to finish it off!! Short delivery, Babar pulls it past fine-leg for a boundary. Karachi haul down this 196-run target with seven wickets and seven balls to spare.
