Player Bio

The leading speedster who can clock regularly over 140 kph, Sompal Kami is a professional cricketer for Nepal national team. After a string of impressive performances for Kathmandu in the U-19 National Championship, he was fast-tracked into the Nepal U-19 setup.

Sompal’s brilliance in the U-19 squad helped him earn a national call-up in the 2014 Cricket World Qualifier. He later was selected to be part of the senior squad for the 2014 T20 World Cup and finished the coveted tournament with 4 wickets in three games.

The 25-year-old pacer made his ODI debut in August 2018 against the Netherlands when Nepal first gained ODI status for ICC in March 2018.  Since then, he has become a regular for Nepal in the limited-overs format. Known for his economical wicket-taking spells, he has over 150 wickets in international and domestic cricket combined and would be hoping to shed some light on the upcoming generation of pacers in Nepal.
