Buyanda Majola has earned his reputation in South African cricket as a steady new-ball pacer who brings grit and discipline to every game.

Growing up in Durban, Majola was drawn to pace bowling at a young age. From his early cricketing days, Majola started displaying excellent performances in the school and local tournaments across Durban.

Even before making his first-class debut, he made his List A debut in March 2025 for the South Africa Emerging side, where he took two wickets but in a losing cause.

The 2007-born pacer later featured in the South Africa U-19 team, which participated in a one-day tri-series in Zimbabwe. Though the Proteas lost the final of that tournament to the young Bangladesh side, Majola had an excellent campaign. He took 13 wickets in the tournament and was the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament after Bangladesh's Al Fahad (14).

His performances didn't go unnoticed, as Majola was signed on a rookie contract by the Pretoria Capitals for the 2025/26 season.

Notably, Majola is an alumnus of the renowned Durban High School, which has produced some of the finest cricketers ever to take to the field, including Hashim Amla, Lance Klusener, and the great Barry Richards.

Away from the game, Majola is humble and grounded. He remains close to his family in Durban and often returns to his club to provide crucial support in key games.
