Player Bio

Jewel Andrew is a young Antiguan wicketkeeper-batter making waves in Caribbean cricket with his precocious talent and fearless performances. Born on 7 December 2006, Andrew announced his arrival on the international stage at just 17, making his ODI debut for the West Indies in October 2024. In doing so, he broke a long-standing record to become the youngest ODI debutant in West Indies history, surpassing Xavier Marshall.

A right-handed batter known for his clean stroke play and sharp glove work, Andrew plays his domestic cricket for the Leeward Islands and the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. He made his List A debut in November 2023 at the age of 16, facing off against Barbados in the Super50 Cup — a clear indication of the selectors’ faith in his ability from an early age.

Before his senior breakthrough, Andrew stood out in youth cricket. He was selected for the West Indies Under-19 team for a tour of Sri Lanka in August 2023 and later earned a spot in the squad for the 2024 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa. He made headlines in the tournament’s opening match by blasting a brilliant 130 from just 96 balls against hosts South Africa — an innings that highlighted both his temperament and match-winning potential.

Jewel Andrew’s rapid rise is a testament to his skill, maturity, and hunger to perform on the big stage. With a long career ahead of him, he is widely seen as one of the brightest prospects in West Indies cricket’s next generation.
