Sonam Mukesh Yadav, who was a part of the inaugural U-19 Women's T20 World Cup, is well-known for her left-arm orthodox bowling. She represents Uttar Pradesh Women in the domestic circuit.
The youngster started her cricketing journey by debuting for the UP U-19 team in 2018. In the same year, she played in the T20 Tournament and bagged three wickets, helping her State lift the trophy.
After an impressive performance in the domestic circuit, the Firozabad-born was selected for the U-19 India team against New Zealand. She was outstanding in the four matches played, scalping six wickets.
Soon came the defining moment of Sonam’s career when the young lass was selected for the inaugural season of the U-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2023. The 15-year-old proved to be an asset for India, bucketing five wickets in six matches and contributing to the team’s cause of winning the marquee event.
Sonam was again in the headlines when Mumbai Indians roped her in for the base price of INR 10 Lakhs in the inaugural Women's Premier League (WPL) auction in February 2023.
