The 22-year-old Delhi pacer was handpicked by Sachin Tendulkar ahead of the 2013 IPL season. Tendulkar saw Javed Khan bowling at the India nets before the Delhi-Test against Australia in March 2013 and he liked what he saw. Javed posed challenge to the Indian batsmen with nip and bounce and caught the eye of the legendary batsman batting in the adjacent net. Javed had played seven first-class matches spanned in three years when he was inserted in the Mumbai Indians camp.
