Meeka-eel Prince has steadily built his reputation as a promising young opening batter in South Africa’s domestic circuit. Known for his stylish strokeplay and occasional wicketkeeping, Prince has come through the North West province's system and continues to be seen as a player capable of maturing into a reliable top-order option.

Prince first attracted attention in provincial age-group cricket, particularly during the Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Week, where he compiled several consistent scores for his side. 

The North West player made his List A debut in September 2023, while his first-class debut came two months later. The 2004-born youngster has played for the South Africa U-19 side, and during his tenure with them, he made his T20 debut in September 2022. 

One of his iconic domestic performances came in a List A game in Potchefstroom in October 2023, when Prince smashed a match-winning 166 off 140 balls against Boland.

In August 2024, he was named in the South Africa A cricket team to play against the Sri Lanka A cricket team in the unofficial ODIs. Later, in May 2025, he travelled with the South Africa Emerging side on the tour of Bangladesh.

In February 2025, Prince was named in the Proteas ODI for the tri-series in Pakistan, but he didn't get a game. 

Prince hasn't made his SA20 debut yet, but will be hoping to make one in the 2025-26 season, as the Pretoria Capitals franchise has signed the opening batter.
