Player Bio

Urvil Mukesh Patel, a fiery wicketkeeper-batter from Mehsana, Gujarat, has rapidly become a standout talent in Indian domestic cricket. Renowned for his aggressive right-handed batting, Patel first caught attention with his explosive performances for Baroda’s youth teams before transferring to Gujarat for the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy.

His domestic career ignited with a T20 debut for Baroda in the 2017–18 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he smashed a 28-ball fifty, showcasing his power-hitting prowess. A List A debut followed in the 2018 Vijay Hazare Trophy, and his first-class debut came in 2024 against Tamil Nadu.

Patel’s defining moment arrived in November 2024, when he blasted a 28-ball century, the fastest T20 hundred by an Indian and second-fastest globally against Tripura in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Days later, he scored another ton off 36 balls, cementing his reputation as a T20 dynamo.

Despite going unsold in the 2025 IPL auction, his form earned him a spot with Chennai Super Kings in 2025 as a replacement for the injured Vansh Bedi. At 26, Patel’s blend of wicketkeeping finesse and fearless batting marks him as a thrilling prospect for India’s white-ball future.
