Rivaldo Moonsamy is a talented South African cricketer who has built a reputation as a dependable wicketkeeper-batter in the domestic circuit. The Pretoria-born cricketer developed a love for the game at a young age, honing his skills in school competitions before breaking into the professional ranks. His natural athleticism behind the stumps and ability to adapt with the bat quickly caught the eye of selectors.

He made his first-class debut for Northerns in 2015 and soon established himself as a key figure in their batting order. In 2015, he also made his List A and T20 debuts. Known for his composure under pressure, Moonsamy often anchors innings with patience and grit, while also possessing the ability to accelerate when required.

His big moment came when he was named in the Proteas squad for the 2016 U-19 World Cup held in Bangladesh.

Over the years, he has been a consistent performer in the CSA Provincial competitions, notching up valuable runs across formats. His maiden first-class ton came against the Warriors in 2017.

In 2018, he was part of the Titans squad that went on a historic tour to Seychelles.

An alumnus of Pretoria's St Alban's College, Moonsamy’s domestic journey also saw him turn out for Titans, one of South Africa’s most competitive franchises, where he gained exposure alongside some of the country’s leading players. While still working toward higher honours, the 1996-born cricketer remains determined and disciplined, with a reputation for putting in the hard yards both on and off the field.

However, after years of hardwork, Moonsamy has finally been named in the Proteas senior squad for a T20I match against Namibia in October 2025. He will aim to become a regular in the Proteas squad from now onwards.

Beyond cricket, Moonsamy is admired for his humility and grounded personality. Teammates often speak of his quiet determination and willingness to support younger players, qualities that highlight his leadership potential.
