Luke Anthony Procter is a gritty left-handed batsman and right-handed fast bowler, who has been a key asset in the county circles. Born in Oldham, the all-rounder has been with Lancashire since his Academy days, before migrating to Northamptonshire in late 2016. He has been a consistent performer both with bat and ball in the Championship, best known for his reliability with the red ball.

The Oldham-born debut for Lancashire during the Pro40 Division Two in 2009, his first-class debut came a year later in the Championship. Both his List A and FC debuts came against Warwickshire. However, he made his mark the following season during Lancs’ Championship-winning year, where he studded 366 runs at 40.66. His 2012 season was disrupted by injury. While in 2013, his numbers weren’t very appealing.

The all-rounder redeemed himself when Lancashire returned to Division One Championship in 2016. Procter was promoted to bat at number 3 and he didn’t disappoint by scoring 822 runs with a staggering 137 against Hampshire. However, he spent the last month of that summer with the Northants on loan, later signing a three-year contract with the latter county.

Procter left Lancashire after scoring over 5000 runs and scalping more than 150 wickets. He has also been a strong performer in white-ball cricket, his strong technique and ability to scalp key wickets makes him a dogged player. At 33, the dogged man still has a lot to offer and he would like to find success with both bat and ball in the seasons to follow.
