Player Bio

A naturally aggressive batter and a gun fielder, Jordan Silk is a professional Australian cricketer who started his cricketing career playing in age-group cricket for New South Wales and even represented the state’s U-19 team. At just 16 years of age, Silk became the youngest player to score a century on his debut in Sydney First Grade Cricket’s history.

After scoring 672 runs at an average of 73 for the North Hobart side in the 2012-13 domestic season, Silk forced his way into Tasmania’s state team and started his first-class career with a bang. It just took three first-class matches for the Sydney-born all-rounder to make his way into Australia 'A' side. He recorded 347 runs in his first three games, including a century in the Sheffield Shield final.

Following seven seasons with the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League (BBL), the 29-year old came close to winning the title on two occasions and finally experienced championship glory in the ninth edition of the BBL.

A well-composed middle-order batsman, he added valuable runs in the middle-overs during their title-winning campaign. Described as the best fielder in Australia by Ricky Ponting, Silk would be hoping to continue his exploits in the field as well as with the bat in the upcoming seasons of the BBL.
