Arguably one of the most gifted players produced by Worcestershire, Thomas fell is a right-handed wicket-keeper batsman who plays for Worcestershire in the English County.
Born in Hillingdon, Fell, a promising young batsman suffered from Testicular cancer in 2015, and as a result, his cricketing career came to a halt. Fell had surgery and subsequently needed chemotherapy, before resuming his career midway through the next season.
His first List-A hundred post-surgery against Lancashire in the Royal One-Day Cup was warmly greeted by the fans. Fell won the MCC’s Spirit of the Cricket Award in 2016 for signalling that his foot had touched the ropes while failing to save a boundary against Sussex.
A talented cricketer, Fell made his first-class debut for Oxford MCCU in 2013. In just his second game for Worcestershire in 2014, Fell played a sublime knock of 62, against an Aussies attack that consisted of Ryan Harris.
2015 was a special year for Fell. He registered more than 1,000 runs in the Championship season, despite the fact that Worcestershire were relegated this season.
Post his surgery and comeback from Cancer, Fell has struggled to cope up with high expectations.
Fell would have reached the pinnacle of international cricket if it wasn’t for his unfortunate illness. Once considered as the future England keeper, Fell has struggled to jot down numbers which he once did. Still in the prime of his career, he’ll look to bounce back and will try and cement a spot in the national side.
