Player Bio

Ben Charlesworth is an English batting all-rounder who has steadily risen through the ranks with Gloucestershire since making his first-class debut as a teenager in the 2018 County Championship. A composed left-handed batter with a fluent, technically sound game, Charlesworth has built a reputation as one of Gloucestershire’s most reliable young performers.

Charlesworth made his List A debut in 2019 against Australia A and soon after became a regular feature in England’s youth setup. He represented England in the U19 tri-series in the Caribbean before being named in the squad for the 2020 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, further showcasing his potential on the global stage.

His breakthrough domestic season arrived in 2024, when he struck a superb career-best 210 against Leicestershire and finished the County Championship with 723 runs at an average of 48.20. His consistency earned him a new two-year contract, reaffirming his status as a long-term prospect for Gloucestershire.

A useful left-arm medium pacer, Charlesworth offers flexibility as a secondary bowling option, particularly in limited-overs cricket. His ability to anchor an innings while accelerating when needed makes him a valuable top-order asset.

In 2025, Charlesworth adds a new chapter to his career as he joins the Kathmandu Gorkhas as their overseas signing for the Nepal Premier League. His solid technique, temperament, and all-round skillset bring experience and stability to the Gorkhas’ lineup, marking his first venture into Nepal’s growing franchise cricket scene.

Still only in his early twenties, Ben Charlesworth continues to develop into a dependable, mature cricketer with a promising future across formats.
