Player Bio

A rising young Queensland bowler, Matthew Willians will become the tallest player in the upcoming edition of the Big Bash League (BBL). Standing at 205 cm tall, Willians has gained a full-time contract for the first time after being a rookie-contracted player for the past 2 years.

A former Australian U-19 representative, Willians was a member of the 2020 World Cup squad that participated in the ICC event held in South Africa. An exciting 20-year old prospect, he likes generating extra bounce utilizing his tall height.

Willians made an impressive return from an injury, picking up eight wickets in just 4 games for the University of Queensland in the Bulls Master First Grade Competition. A physically matured cricketer, the left-arm pacer would be hoping to don the light blue jersey in the upcoming season of the BBL.
