Player Bio

Tanzid Hasan Tamim is a left-handed opening batter, who represents Bangladesh at the highest level.

Born on December 1, 2000, in Bogura, which is approximately 200 kilometers northwest of Dhaka. He eventually started to play for Dhaka Capitals, and earned a reputation for his aggressive intent.

Tanzid's journey hasn't been an easy one by any means. He faced various restrictions from his family, but he stood determined and joined the Bangla Trac Cricket Academy in Rajshahi to hone his skills.

Soon, he became a local hero by smashing the bowlers around the ground in the local tournaments.

The southpaw made his T20 debut for Uttara Sporting Club in the 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division T20 league in February 2019, before making his List-A debut for the same club in the subsequent month.

Tanzid, who was always a child prodigy, played a crucial role in the 2020 Under-19 World Cup, contributing to Bangladesh’s victorious campaign. He scored a jaw-dropping 80 in the quarterfinal against South Africa, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure.

His consistent performance helped him shine brighter and bag a contract with the Chattogram Challengers.

Tanzid's season to shine in the BPL came in 2025, where he was no less than phenomenal.

The opener accumulated 485 runs, making him the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament. His remarkable knock of 108 runs against Durbar Rajshahi contributed to the team's record-setting total of 254/1 - the highest in the tournament's history.

Later, the youngster was also added to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan, but he couldn't have a campaign he had wished for.

Having said that, Tanzid is known for his techniques and his ability to approach the innings aggressively. He draws inspiration from Tamim Iqbal, and the young batter mirrors a similar flair and confidence at the crease.
