The only lone bright spot in the South Africa tour was his 78-ball ton he scored. In the Bangladesh Test played in August, Labuschagne managed to make his way into the Playing XI but failed to prove his worth, averaging only 12.00 from the three innings he appeared in. Although he had an impressive Sheffield Shield season, which saw him boast an average of 37.50 from 14 innings, his Ashes returns were underwhelming against Australia, where he scored 259 runs from 10 innings, with several single-digit outings marring his display with the bat. In the World Test Championship final in 2025 against South Africa, Labuschagne was a poor performer with the bat, producing scores of 22 and 17 in the two innings he played in the match. Nevertheless, this South Africa series will be a redemption ticket for Labuschagne if he manages to turn his form around and return to consistency with the bat.
