South Africa are ready to host West Indies in the third and final match of the three-match T20I series. The SA vs WI 3rd T20I game will be played at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday, January 31.

Although South Africa have already secured the series, this match is still important for both teams as they prepare for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Therefore, both sides will be keen to test combinations and improve their overall performance.

South Africa, led by Aiden Markram, have been impressive throughout the series. In the first T20I, they comfortably chased a target of 174 runs in just 17.5 overs at Boland Park, Paarl. Then, they raised the bar even higher in the second match at SuperSport Park, Centurion.

Thanks to Quinton de Kock’s brilliant century, the Proteas chased down a huge 222-run target with ease.

On the other hand, West Indies have shown promise with the bat and performed better in the last game. However, their bowling has been a major concern in both matches. As a result, they will need stronger plans and better execution if they hope to finish the series on a positive note.

On that note, let’s have a look at the South Africa and West Indies's head-to-head record in T20Is.

Conclusion

In conclusion, South Africa appear to have the advantage going into this T20I match. Even though the head-to-head record is evenly balanced at 14 wins each, current form and home conditions favour South Africa.

On the other hand, West Indies do have some players in good form, but their bowling has been inconsistent, and they will be eager to recover after their last defeat.
