The PSL is entering a fresh phase as two new teams prepare to join the competition from PSL 11. Recent reports have identified the Hyderabad franchise's probable name, while the Sialkot team has already announced its name.

All put together, these developments promise a bigger and more competitive PSL season. As the franchise names and owners, and expansion plans take shape, so does the excitement about the league.

Hyderabad franchise likely to be called Kingsmen Hyderabad

According to reports, the proposed name of the new Hyderabad-based PSL team is Kingsmen Hyderabad, although the final confirmation is still awaited.

The franchise has been acquired by the US-based FKS Group, led by businessman Fawad Sarwar, who secured the seventh PSL slot during the recent auction in Islamabad.

Reports suggest the name “Kingsmen” is being seriously considered as it aligns with the group’s existing cricket brand. The FKS Group already owns the Chicago Kingsmen in the United States.

And using the same name could help build a strong and unified brand across leagues. While other naming options are also being discussed internally, Kingsmen Hyderabad is currently the frontrunner.

The Hyderabad franchise was sold for PKR 1.75 billion at a high-profile auction held at the Jinnah Convention Centre. The team will officially join the PSL from season 11, marking Hyderabad’s return to top-level T20 cricket under the PSL banner.

Sialkot Stallionz officially confirmed as new PSL team

While Hyderabad’s name is still under discussion, the Sialkot franchise has already been confirmed as Sialkot Stallionz.

The team is owned by OZ Developers, who secured the franchise with a record bid of PKR 1.85 billion, making it the most expensive team in PSL history so far.

The Stallionz will represent Sialkot but are expected to play their home matches at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, due to infrastructure concerns at Jinnah Stadium.

The franchise name was officially revealed earlier this month, and the team is set to make its debut in PSL 11. With a strong ownership group and early clarity on branding, Sialkot Stallionz appear well-prepared for their first season.

What does the addition of new teams mean for PSL 11?

With Hyderabad and Sialkot added to the competition, the league will have eight instead of six competition teams, creating multiple matches and increasing the talent pool for the players.

PSL 11 is scheduled to be played between late March and early May 2026, following an expanded format approved by the PCB.

The player draft is scheduled to take place in February, where both the new franchises will get priority picks to help them build competitive squads.

Therefore, an auction with increased overseas slots and an even deeper local player base is probably one of the most exciting in PSL history.
