Much to everyone’s surprise, Suryakumar Yadav was the biggest absentee from the list despite making himself available.Siddhesh Lad will lead the team, but the biggest talking point is Suryakumar Yadav’s absence. There were reports that the MCA had approached the former India captain, following which he made himself available. Amid the massive debate on social media, an MCA official, speaking anonymously to news agency PTI, cleared the air.Suryakumar Yadav skipped pre-season trainingThe source, speaking to PTI, confirmed that the MCA approached Suryakumar Yadav for the Ranji Trophy, but the right-handed batter was unresponsive and skipped the pre-season training camp. He will be a part of the squad and second to Shreyas Iyer in terms of leadership roles.SKY is at an interesting stage in his career. He won the T20 World Cup 2026 with India and was kept out of the scheme of things since then.
