Princy Parikh became the talk of the hour after IND vs SA in Ahmedabad (x.com)
After South Africa defeated India in Super8s of the T20 World Cup 2026, where David Miller starred the show with his 35-ball 63, Indian influencer Princy Parikh became an overnight sensation all over the internet.
Parikh is a proper RJ and influencer with 1.7 million followers on Instagram and over 30k follow her on Facebook. She uploaded a hysterical reel on the platforms, where she sarcastically clapped around the cricketer for winning the Player of the Match award against the reigning champions in Ahmedabad last Sunday.
However, the content piece made a lot of buzz around the internet, grabbing a whole of heat as well as some laughs. With a lot of people got the hang of the joke, but a section of audience found it offensive.
Parikh gets rape threats, body shaming comments
After the buzz created by her video, the influencer faced a lot of backlash on Facebook. She posted a story on Instagram, where she stated she received a lot of hate, and some evildoer even went on to give her rape threats and hundreds of body shaming comments.
"Deleted my reel with David Miller from Facebook because I absolutely couldn't bear so many graphic and disturbing rape threats and hundreds of comments body shaming me," Parikh wrote on her Instagram.

The influencer further said that she will file an official complain to the police authorities.
"I am going to file a police complaint on all of these people and others that I have blocked. I will put all their usernames with their messages on story for people and their employer's to know what kind of potential criminals they are surrounded with. Nobody deserves this," she further added.
It is understood, Parikh is one of the influencers invited by the ICC to promote the T20 World Cup 2026. She is a popular influencer who has collaborated with Hardik Pandya, Kane Williamson and Smriti Mandhana.
India's road to semifinal
After losing Super8 clash against South Africa, India find themselves in a tough spot, with both their remaining matches becoming must-wins. However, with the Proteas and the West Indies bagging emphatic victories, the defending champions need a lot of things to go in their favour.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led side lost their previous game by a massive margin of 56 runs, and they will be next at loggerheads with Zimbabwe in Chennai on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Proteas' next clash is against the Windies, on the same day, at Ahmedabad.
Team India was unbeatable till they faced South Africa in Ahmedabad, losing their first game of the tournament and first matches after 17 outings in ICC tournament. Interestingly, the last ICC game in a white-ball tournament that Men in Blue lost was Australia at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.
Not just India and South Africa's group has become a tough examination to crack, there is a neck-to-neck fight going on in Group 2 as well. Pakistan will face England in a do-or-die game in Kandy on Tuesday.
