On Wednesday, India will lock horns with New Zealand in the fourth T20I of the five-match series. The match will be played at the Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. 

Even though two matches are still left, India have already won the series by taking an unbeatable 3-0 lead.

India beat New Zealand to win T20I series

So far, the series has been completely dominated by India. Notably, in the last match, New Zealand struggled against India’s strong bowling attack. Their openers were dismissed early, which put them under pressure straight away. 

Glenn Phillips tried to steady the innings with a fighting 48 runs. Along with him, Mark Chapman and captain Mitchell Santner added some useful runs. However, the team never really gained momentum.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah was the star performer with the ball. In addition, Ravi Bishnoi, Hardik Pandya, and Harshit Rana supported him well, helping India restrict Kiwis to 153.

During the chase, India lost Sanju Samson on the very first ball. However, Abhishek Sharma quickly changed the game with an explosive unbeaten 68 runs.  As a result, India comfortably won the match in just 10 overs.

Now, with the series already in hand, India will aim to keep their winning momentum going and push for a 5-0 clean sweep ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. 

On the other hand, Mitchell Santner’s New Zealand side is under heavy pressure, as they continue to struggle in the T20 format.
