Harbhajan Singh lost his cool as he went on a tirade against a former Pakistan cricketer. The cricketer is contention is none other than ex-Pakistan fast bowler and loudmouth personality, Tanvir Ahmed.

Tanvir recently stirred a major controversy after accusing Harbhajan Singh of “always hanging out with Pakistani cricketers”, thus indirectly pitting Indian fans against the legendary off-spinner in the height of severing geo-political ties between the two nations. As one can expect, Harbhajan rejected the notion and warned the Pakistani expert of facing stern consequences.

Harbhajan Singh calls Tanvir Ahmed a “tuccha insaan”

Taking to his YouTube channel on February 13, former Indian all-rounder Harbhajan Singh called out controversial Pakistani personality Tanvir Ahmed for his disparaging remarks.

Earlier, Ahmed alleged Harbhajan of “always roaming around with Pakistani cricketers”, thus referencing to the cricketer’s stay in the UAE last year for ILT20. Responding to the allegations, India’s World Cup winning player called the ex-Pakistan star a “tuccha insaan”.

Harbhajan Singh said that Tanvir Ahmed behaves as if he was Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, and Waqar Younis; even though he has played only a handful of matches for Pakistan.

As quoted by NDTV, he said, “This video is for a tuccha insaan (petty human being), who's said a few things about me. Ideally, I don't even know who he is, but because I see that time and again, he does his drama on one platform or another. First, I want to know who this guy is. Do you even know him? His name is Tanvir Ahmed. He's played some 3-4 matches for Pakistan, and he behaves as if he is Imran Khan, or Wasim Akram, or Waqar Younis. Shame on you.”

Harbhajan Singh also clarified that he interacted with Pakistani cricketers as part of his broadcasting duties in the UAE during the previous ILT20 2025-26 season.

He added, “I was serving my role as a broadcaster in the ILT20. What is the role of a broadcaster? When someone wins the Man of the Match award, you ask him questions, right? Usman Tariq, the Pakistan spinner, picked up three wickets and won the match for his team. As a broadcaster, I am obviously supposed to ask him questions. But when I did so, this guy had a problem. Had I not asked him questions, he would have again thought that, since he's from Pakistan, I didn't ask him questions. He said, wherever I see a Pakistani cricketer, I roam around them.”

Harbhajan Singh says will “destroy” Tanvir Ahmed

Harbhajan Singh further stated that all great players Pakistan has produced are “well-respected”, while Tanvir Ahmed just goes to TV channels and utters “nonsense” for fame. The former Indian cricketer also admitted to not knowing who Tanvir was before his controversial remarks rose him to unwanted limelight.

He said, “Listen to me. I don't even know who you are. None of the greats produced by Pakistan says such a thing. They are well-respected. But people like you, who have never achieved anything, all they can do is sit on cheap channels and utter nonsense. You don't have the manners to speak. This is the difference between a player who plays 5 matches and one who plays 100.”

The legendary Indian off-spinner concluded his verbal assault by threatening to “destroy Tanvir Ahmed” if the Pakistani player mentions his name again. He added, “So Tanvir Ahmed, look at yourself and stop talking nonsense. As far as I am concerned, just buzz off. The next time it happens, teri dhajjiya uda dunga (I'll destroy you). So get lost.”

Tanvir Ahmed’s previous thrust with Indian cricket

Notably, this is not the first instance where Tanvir Ahmed has said something controversial regarding an Indian cricketer or India cricket in general.

The former speedster was previously involved in a verbal tussle with current Indian coach Gautam Gambhir back in 2018. At the time, the ex-cricketer had alleged Virat Kohli of “running away from facing Pakistan”, before Gambhir came to the Indian legend’s rescue.

Tanvir Ahmed also called for the ODI retirements of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma a couple of years ago, challenging Team India to become the world number one side without them.

Furthermore, he has been one of the most outspoken and controversial Pakistani personalities since India-Pakistan geo-political and cricketing relations took turn for the worse last year.
