After losing back-to-back matches to England, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to release seven players mid-tour. Not just that, red-ball coaches were axed, with Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke called in on an interim basis for the third ENG vs PAK Test. PCB’s bold move also backfired, as the Babar Azam-led side had another poor day at the office on the first day of the Edgbaston Test match. Meanwhile, Hesson, who has just joined the team, is being blamed for the downfall, as he is referred to as an Indian agent, just like Ranveer Singh in the chart-busting Bollywood movie ‘Dhurandar’. Rashid Latif calls Mike Hesson as an 'Indian agent'After a shambolic first day at Edgbaston, former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif blamed interim head coach Mike Hesson, referring him as an Indian agent. While bringing former coaches Bob Woolmer, Geoff Lawson, and Mickey Arthur, in the arguement, he called them loyals towards Pakistan cricket."Loyalty is a very important factor when it comes to foreign coaches. Bob Woolmer was pretty loyal, so was Geoff Lawson. Mickey Arthur was also an utter proffessional. I am not putting any blame on anybody, but whosoever has come here (to Pakistan's backroom staff) after the IPL, there always be a doubt on them. We always block India, they are trying to eat us from the inside," Rashid Latif said on his Youtube Channel.Meanwhile, Latif indirectly questioned Hesson for his connections in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Moreover, he blamed Hesson, who was Pakistan's head coach during the 2026 T20 World Cup, for the team's early exit, as Babar Azam batted at number 4. "Why did Babar play at number 4 in the 2026 T20 World Cup? Rounds of musical chairs have swept through the Pakistan system, with administrators, coaches, and captains being sacked after failures. Mike Hesson, with his prior experience at Islamabad United in the PSL, was appointed Pakistan's white-ball coach in May 2025. Although the white-ball teams haven't done anything noteworthy under the Kiwi coach, he can't be blamed for their downfall, especially on this infamous tour of England.
