Conman Sukesh Chandrashekar has thrown his hat into the ring, as RCB continue searching for its new owner ahead of IPL 2026. It's worth mentioning that the RCB owners have received a realistic offer from Chandrashekhar, who has expressed a strong desire to own the defending IPL champions.

RCB enjoyed stellar success in the IPL 2025, finishing the tournament as the winners. The Rajat Patidar-led outfit finished second in the group stage and went on to defeat Punjab Kings in qualifier 1 as well as the final to end a 17-year title drought with their first-ever triumph in the IPL. However, soon after RCB won the competition, the RCB owners, United Spirits, decided to sell the franchise ahead of the 2026 season.

Adar Poonawalla confirmed interest in buying RCB

Recently, renowned Indian businessman Adar Poonawalla expressed his interest in buying RCB. Taking to his official handle on the social media platform X, Poonawalla vowed to put in a strong, competitive bid for the IPL 2025 champions. In fact, he addressed RCB as one of the best IPL teams, writing,

"Over the next few months, will be putting in a STRONG and COMPETITIVE bid for @RCBTweets, one of the best teams in the IPL."

However, Sukesh Chandrashekar has decided to participate in the bidding process, offering a lucrative proposal to RCB's current owners. As revealed by India Today, the infamous conman has approached Diageo, the parent company of United Spirits, to argue that his offer is more realistic than Poonawalla's.

Sukesh has claimed that he can strike the deal quicker than his counterpart through an all-cash transaction of one million US Dollars. He has also revealed that his offer is free from third-party funding and hence could be smoother and less risky than the one RCB are looking to execute with Adar Poonawalla.

In his letter, the conman has claimed that his offer is more realistic, although RCB have been offered two million USD for the deal by his rivals. He has shown a strong desire to invest in the Bengaluru-based franchise, stating his company, LS Holdings, is legally not guilty despite being framed through allegations driven by conspiracy.

“It is to my knowledge that recently you have been offered Double to what I am currently offering by another Group. However, I have given you a Realistic offer. All these charges that I am facing personally are only allegations; nothing is proved in any court of law," Chandrashekhar wrote, according to India Today.
