Over the year, a formidable force of 11 players were built that went onto win the 2003 and 2007 World Cup, becoming the 1st and only team in the history of cricket to win three ODI World Cups consecutively.
For the unversed, Australia had a streak of 34 unbeaten matches in ODI World Cup history, a feat that started in 1999 and was broken in 2011 when India beat the Kangaroos to advance to the semi-finals.

Speaking in a podcast, Brett Lee backed Virat Kohli to be part of Australia’s golden team. The former Australian seamer praised Virat’s aggressive intent, his hunger for runs and his body language.
"Virat Kohli, I think, in his heyday would have fitted into any Australian cricket team. He had aggression, fitness & competitiveness that the Kangaroos prides itself on, " remarked Brett Lee, speaking with Atharva Sudame.

There is no surprise that Virat Kohli loves to play against Australia. Not just that, but the 37-year-old also has an impressive record across formats while playing Down Under.
Virat Kohli has scored 5551 runs against the Aussies in 126 innings across formats. He averages 48.69, which includes 17 centuries and 29 fifty-plus scores.
Interestingly, Virat’s average goes up when he plays in Australia. The right-handed batter loves playing in the continent Down Under, where he has 3690 runs in 82 innings, averaging 51.97. Virat has scored 12 centuries and 20 fifties in Australia.
