The report quoted a BCCI official and stated that both parties are moving towards a positive direction for a contract extension, with only the minute details remaining to be resolved.Further, it was reported that the BCCI office-bearers and the selection committee have been involved in a cold-war situation, and Agarkar’s absence from the recent performance review meeting further intensified the speculations.Agarkar's tenure witnessed India winning three ICC trophiesIn the last three years, Agarkar’s selection tenure has witnessed Team India winning three ICC trophies and also reaching the finals of the 2023 ODI World Cup.His first major selection decision was picking the squad for the 2023 ODI World Cup, and in the tournament, India managed to reach the final but lost to Australia.
