The clip quickly went viral on social media, where fans were witty enough to see the other angle and commented that Sunny G nearly fumbled and it became a talking point. Nonetheless, the name has gone viral and Abhishek is indeed getting referred as Abhisix.

The little master, who was the presenter for the first T20I, got hold of Abhishek and praised the young talent for his sensational batting. Gavaskar highlighted Abhishek’s astonishing 200+ strike-rate and took a dig at himself to acknowledge Sharma’s heroics, who frustrated New Zealand with his powerhitting and huge sixes in the powerplay. 

“Abhishek Sharma gets to his half-century in the same number of balls as I used to just to get off the mark,” remarked Gavaskar while speaking to Star Sports. Meanwhile, Abhishek was pleased to hear his praise and acknowledge the remarks from the legend himself, who praised Sharma's ability to utilise the powerplay.

Further, Abhishek also showed respect and touched Sunil Gavaskar's feat for the admiration. Therefore, the two share a great bond.

Rohit Sharma holds the record with 205 sixes in 151 innings. If we look at the average, then the hitman has hit 1.3 sixes per innings. On the other hand, Abhishek manages an average of 2.4 sixes per innings.

Notably, Abhishek also has the chance to hit the fastest 100 sixes in T20Is and his six-hitting skill has actually earned him the moniker of Abhisix Sharma from Sunil Gavaskar.
