A wake-up call for Australia that comes via a trail of spin against Pakistan just a week ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. Not a full-strength team, alright, but then it is the Aussies. The Mitchell Marsh-led side will play all of their group games in the upcoming marquee event in the spin-friendly arenas in Colombo and Pallekele. It has lost 16 wickets to spin in these two matches, conceding none to pace. Fear is real! And again, the 2021 champions turn up differently in the World Cups.

On the other hand, Pakistan managed to outplay the touring party, courtesy of a spin masterclass that helped them to seal the series with two big wins at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. It's their first T20I series win against the Kangaroos since 2018.

In what is a quick turnaround, these two teams will meet in the third and final T20I at the same venue on Sunday (February 1).

Australia will look to avoid an embarrassing whitewash, while the hosts will aim for a famous clean sweep.

After the 22-run defeat in the series opener, Australia had the advantage of a few main players coming back into the XI, but unfortunately for them, the result didn't go their way, losing the 2nd T20I by a massive 90-run margin.

Pakistan batted first and notched up a huge 198/5 in 20 overs, courtesy of skipper Salman Ali Agha's captain's knock, hitting 76 off 40. Usman Khan's welcome return to form as he scored a fine half-century was the real positive for the Men in Green, while the form of Sahibzada Farhan and Babar Azam remains a concern. Saim Ayub has been good with his all-round performances, while the spinners have been superb.

Apart from Adam Zampa and Cooper Connolly, none of the other bowlers managed to adapt to the conditions and deliver the goods for the visitors.

Australia were outfoxed by Pakistan's spinners. The dangerous top and middle order failed to counter the spin threat. Cameron Green scored 35 off 20, but failed to convert it into a big knock and ran out of partners. Eventually, they were bundled out for just 108.

Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Ayub, Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq were too hot to handle for the Mitchell Marsh-led team.

Australia need to find an answer to spin ahead of the big tournament. Can they do that, or will Pakistan register a rare series sweep over the Aussies? To find out, join us at 3:30 PM IST and 3 PM Local Time on Sunday for its live coverage!
