The Hong Kong side end the tournament without a single win while Afghanistan A has moved onto the second spot in the Group A points table. However, whether Afghanistan A will qualify for the semifinals or not depends on the result of the match between Sri Lanka A and Bangladesh A, which will be held later in the day.
Electing to field first, Hong Kong bowlers dominated the Afghanistan A batters for most of the innings. The pacers used their cutters very well on the slow surface while the spinners kept their lines tight. The side didn't allow Afghan batters to free their arms. The Afghan side ended up with 140/6. The top scorer was Mohammad Ishaq, who scored 38 off 29 balls.
Hong Kong seamer Hassan Khan Mohammad picked up 3/30 while his new ball partner Mohammad Waheed 2/31. Skipper and left-arm spinner Yasim Murtaza kept things very tight and gave just 16 runs in his four overs.
