This is it from our side, this is Utsav Chandak, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Deepak Prakash & Hiren. The scorer for the fixture was Sachin Yadav. Thanks for staying with us till the end and stay connected with CREX for cricketing action from around the globe.
Vicky Ostwal (POTM): "Absolutely brilliant, I think. It was a complete team effort, no doubt about that. This was one of those matches truly deserved by every single one of the eleven or twelve players out there today. Defending just 134 and winning by over 20 runs — that’s a massive margin given the total. Every player gave it their all, and the bowlers were superbly backed by the fielders. It was an amazing game of cricket, and I loved every bit of it.

Yeah, it’s actually quite hard for me to speak right now. Even while I was out there playing, I wasn’t showing much emotion, but during the game... it all just came out. And yeah, it hurts a bit — I’ve got bruises on my chin — but I’m giving it everything, fighting for the trophy.

My plan was pretty simple — to choke the opposition as much as possible and grab those crucial wickets whenever I could. Overall, I think everything went well. Everyone did their job brilliantly, and it was an amazing game of cricket.

My mother was here today, watching the game, and she’s standing right here beside me now. I want to dedicate this award to her. I really, really love you, Mom. Thank you for all the support — just one more time tomorrow, keep backing me, and we’re going to bring that title home.

Vicky's Mother: "I am feeling very proud, and thank you so much, Raigad Royals. You gave him a chance and made him an icon. For that, thank you so, so much. We are feeling extremely proud. Yesterday, he got hurt, but still today... he gave it everything for the franchise. He always puts in all his effort for the team. So, thank you so much — and I love you, son. We are so proud of you."
Player of the Match: Vicky Ostwal
Rushabh Rathod (Raigad Royals Captain): "Well, it seems like this Test just refuses to end — maybe the Almighty has planned to test us for one more day. But I’m so glad to see the players stepping up like true heroes. Everyone in the dugout seems to be saying, 'I’ll be the hero today. I’ll take the initiative.' It’s inspiring. Even for the spectators, this has been a beautiful example of what real teamwork looks like. Honestly, what more could you ask for?

You know, throughout the first innings, we kept wondering, 'Why aren’t we middling a few?' There was definitely a bit of stickiness in the wicket. But we just kept persisting, even through the second innings. We knew our spinners would eventually turn the game in our favour. It was just about holding back, not going all out looking for turn, and letting the wickets come to us — and that’s exactly what happened.

You know, I truly believe that tomorrow will take care of itself. We genuinely feel it’s going to go our way. We're just going to embrace it with absolute joy and treat it as our ‘last dance’ out here."
Tanay Sanghavi receives the purple cap.
It's time for the post-match presentation.....
Yash Kshirsagar(Puneri Bappa Captain): "I guess we are committing the same mistake again and again. This was the third time we lost wickets in heaps, and that was something we discussed before, and if we are not able to apply it, this is going to be the result. And i guess, if we can't chase 130, we don't deserve to be in the finals. It was an outstanding effort from Royals as well, they bowled well, they fielded well, and the entire game they had their beliefs up, shoutout to them. They really bowled their hearts out.

I guess the surface was not that bad. There batters also got a bit stuck, and our batters also got a bit stuck. I think it was my or Rushikesh's responsibility after two wickets going down, we should have carried the innings a bit more. Unfortunate dismissals, a brilliant run out. Some common sense was required to chase it down, but pressure makes you do funny things.

Well, I would say this was a good season overall, we finished in the top 2 , but there was a lot of things to improve and reflect on. We played well 2-3 matches washed out, but whoever got the opportunity, performed for us. I am grateful for the teams and owners to give me this opportunity. We gave our 100% but this was a result which we weren't expecting it.

The platform given by Maharashtra Cricket is a big platform for everyone, we are getting a chance to represent the higher level if we perform well, so its a really good platform and I hope it continues for many years."
11:04 PM IST, Local Time: Raigad Royals storm into the grand finale of the Maharashtra Premier League, 2025, and they will face Eagle Nashik Titans in the summit clash. Sensational bowling from Raigad Royals, as they ticked all the boxes required to defend a low score and thumped Puneri Bappa by 25 runs. On the other hand, Puneri Bappa have lost back-to-back games in the playoffs. This is the lowest total ever defended in the history of MPL.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Raigad Royals struggled to score briskly and lost wickets at regular intervals following the departure of Omkar Khatpe (21) in the 9th over. Siddhesh Veer anchored the innings with a 40-ball 42 runs, but lacked support from the other end. Puneri Bappa kept picking timely wickets and restricted the Royals to a paltry 133/9 in 20 overs. Ramakrishna Ghosh and Nikit Dhumal bagged a couple of wickets for Puneri Bappa, while Sachin Bhosale, Sohan Jamale, Roshan Waghsare, and Yash Kshirsagar celebrated a solitary wicket.

In reply, Puneri Bappa got off to a shaky start, as Raigad Royals bowlers kept things tight from the word go and grabbed timely wickets. A few streaky boundaries kept the scoreboard ticking for the Puneri Bappa. Yash Nahar (9), Murtaza Trunkwala (1), Yash Kshirsagar (13), Advay Shidhaye (5), and Ramakrishna Ghosh (0) fell in quick succession, leaving the Pune-based side reeling at 65/6 in 12.

Rushikesh Sonawane tried to steady the ship with a run-a-ball 30, anchoring one end, but his unfortunate run-out added to Puneri Bappa’s woes — the last thing they needed at that stage of the chase.

The run-out of Rushikesh Sonawane proved to be the turning point of the game, as Puneri Bappa failed to recover and continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Suraj Shinde offered a glimmer of hope with a brisk 22 in the death overs, but it wasn’t enough. Puneri Bappa’s chase eventually folded for 108 in 18.5 overs, losing by 25 runs.

Nikhil Kadam shone with the ball for Raigad Royals, claiming three wickets. Tanay Sanghavi and Vicky Ostwal chipped in with a couple of wickets each, while Sagar Jadhav and Shubham Kadam contributed one wicket to the downfall.

Stay tuned for the presentation......
