Unfortunately, only 13 overs of play were possible in the first game of Sunday’s triple-header in MPL 2025. Hopefully, the skies will clear up and allow the fans to enjoy uninterrupted action in the remaining two games of the day. For now, it's me, Deepak Prakash, signing off on behalf of scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. CHEERS!
1:13 PM IST, Local Time: The rain has had the final say, folks! The match has been officially called off, but there's good news for fans — the clash between Puneri Bappa and Eagle Nashik Titans will be rescheduled for June 17.
12:15 PM IST, Local Time: Uh-Oh! The rain has returned just after the conclusion of the first innings, and a further reduction in overs seems inevitable, even that will only be possible if the rain stops.
12:13 PM IST, Local Time: End of the first innings! Eagle Nashik Titans managed to post 113/3 in a rain-curtailed 13-over game.
It was a delayed start to the game due to rain, and as a result, the match was reduced to 18 overs per side. After being invited to bat first, Nashik Titans lost Sahil Parikh for a mere 4 runs in the opening over of the game, but Mandar Bhandari came out blazing from the outset and scored rapidly to keep the scoreboard moving at a decent pace. However, he failed to convert it into a big score and departed for 36 runs. Arshin Kulkarni, who struggled to time the ball initially, regained his momentum and switched gears as the innings progressed. Eagle Nashik Titans were 91/3 in 11.2 overs when rain interrupted play once again, leading to the match being further reduced to 13 overs per side. Kulkarni (48*) and Rohan Damle (16*) added a crucial 22 runs in the final 10 balls after the rain break, propelling Eagle Nashik Titans to 113/3 in their allotted 13 overs.
Sachin Bhosale, Nikit Dhumal, and Sohan Jamale shared one wicket each for Puneri Bappa.
The target for Puneri Bappa will be revised as per the DLS method. We’ll bring you the official update as soon as it's announced. Stay tuned for the chase!
