RCB were rusty, taking the field after nearly 20 days. Their first defeat outside Bengaluru this season. There are a few injuries in the RCB camp that might break their momentum. It is better to have an odd bad game in the league stage than in the playoffs. Back-to-back comprehensive wins for SRH, but it has come a bit too late for them. I think the moment I saw Abhishek and Travis going like that in the powerplay, I immediately thought that it's a very good wicket to bat on. So, that's when I thought we need to go over 200 at least.
When you lose too many wickets upfront, your approach changes. You need to play good shots and play safe cricket. I was looking to find those big gaps tonight and play some good shots. Plan was very simple for me. If you get the ball in your arc, you need to go for it. We all know RCB has a strong batting line-up, so you need to get somewhere around 210-220.
I am not so happy with our overall performance this season. We could've done much better in the batting department. We were looking really good in the net sessions but we failed to do the same on the field. I am not too happy with my own performance as well. It's the game of learning. These things happen. You need to keep believing on yourself and keep working hard."
