So, Royal Challengers Bengaluru begin the new journey under Rajat Patidar on a high. They hammer Kolkata Knight Riders in the curtain-raiser and the net run rate has already taken a leap. Tomorrow, it is a Super Sunday with a doubleheader. We have SRH vs RR coming from Hyderabad in the afternoon, following which we have the El ClΓ‘sico between CSK and MI from Chennai in the night.

For now, this is me AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ajay Pal Singh and Pritam Dey, who alongside our scorers Paras Yadav and Raju Khariya and statistician Aman brought you all the live-action of this blockbuster season opener. We will meet again. Until then, its cheers!
Krunal Pandya (POTM): "Nothing much. I realised that when there is so much noise from the crowd, you have to narrow down to focus. When I came back to bowl my second over, I just narrowed down my focus and bowled good balls. Glad that I could deliver for my team.

You know, if they have to score, then have to do that off my good balls. I mean, again, you have to go with the flow. Nowadays, you see batters with so many shots and new skill sets, that you, as a bowler, need to evolve.

You speak a lot about a change of pace in the modern game. Generally, you talk that for a pacer, but as a spinner, you still can vary your pace. Jitesh Sharma knows that I do have a wide yorker and a bounce. He is quite well aware of it. He is ready for it. When you have those deliveries in your armoury, why not use it?

It's been amazing with RCB when I got into the team, I realised how much madness there is around this franchise. The crowd support you, even in domestic cricket, there also people are chanting RCB, especially when I was playing in Bengaluru. It's been 10 days since I joined and it's been pretty good so far."
Player of the Match: Krunal Pandya
Rajat Patidar (Royal Challengers Bengaluru Captain): "Of course there was pressure but at the end it was a good day for me. If we keep winning like this, it will be good days for me.

(On giving Suyash the 4th over) Well, the plan was pretty clear for me. I wanted the wicket of Andre Russell. It doesn't matter if he was expensive but I badly wanted that wicket and he got it for me. He was our top bowler and I backed him.

(On Krunal and Suyash) I think the credit goes to both the bowlers. KKR were going really hard at one point around the 13th over but the way both of them pulled things back was simply amazing.

I think it feels great when you have a player like him (Virat Kohli), who supports you a lot. We have a really nice group of leaders and it's a great opportunity for me to learn from them.

(On that boundary over backward point against Harshit Rana) That was pre-determined shot. I wanted to go over the covers but the ball nipped back in so it automatically went over backward point."
Most Dot Balls in the Match: Josh Hazlewood (16 dots)
Most 4s in the Match: Phil Salt (9 fours)
