PHEW!!! The Bengaluru-leg of WPL 2025 gets off to a thrilling start. The Mumbai Indians Women beat the hosts Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women in a nail-biting contest. Tomorrow, the Delhi Capitals Women lock horns against the UP Warriorz Women. Do join us for that.
For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of Aditya Agrawal and scorer Paras Yadav. Ta ta. Bye bye.
Amanjot Kaur (Player of the Match): "Very happy. It feels good. I knew that they will have to bowl Kanika one more over. I was backing against the right-handed off-spinners. When you play alongside Nat and Hayley, you know how the calculation works. I knew if I stayed till the end, we can win. Harry di (Harmanpreet Kaur) got out but I decided that I have to take the bowler in the 19th over.
I didn't try anything different. I tried to bowl stump-to-stump line. I just executed it and got the result. Nothing different. God's plans are always greater than us."
Player of the Match: Amanjot Kaur
Harmanpreet Kaur (Mumbai Indians Women Captain) : "Yeah, kind of a relief. We just wanted to play good cricket. We knew the crowd was going to put pressure on us. We wanted to chase and we know that on this ground that dew will come on.
Very happy with our bowlers. They all now their responsibilities. Really happy with the way we played today.
I told Amanjot that it is the last over of their main bowler. I think credit goes to Amanjot the way she batted and bowled today because she doesn't has much of international experience."
Most Dot Balls in the Match: Georgia Wareham (14 dot balls)
