Desert Vipers storm into the final by registering a thumping victory. They will now lock horns with their boogie team — Dubai Capitals  — on Sunday to decide who takes the trophy home. Remember, the two teams have faced off thrice before in the tournament with the Capitals winning all of those matches. Will the Vipers get fourth time lucky? Or will the Capitals become the champions of ILT20 2025?

We will find out together on Sunday. Do join us then. For now, it is the commentary duo of Darpan Tikiya and Sourabh Agrawal signing off along with our scorer Paras Yadav. Sayonara!
Alex Hales (Player Of The Match): "Felt really good, the pitch was brilliant, timed the ball well and I got off to a brilliant start. That is what you want to do in a chase, the pitch was really good as I said.

There was a bit of hold in the first 4-5 overs, I think it was the same for them but that is the advantage you have when you're chasing. You know that and can adjust.

I kept quite still at the crease, was very happy with that. At times when I am not doing well, I tend to get frantic at the crease and move around a lot but in the last few times I have tried to be stiller.

(On what they need to do in the final) I think we will have to bowl really well, they have got a strong batting lineup. We will have to use our change-ups. As a batting unit, we are in form and even our bowlers have been brilliant throughout the competition. Hopefully we can hold our catches as well."
Player of the Match: Alex Hales
Sam Curran (Desert Vipers captain):  "Feels very good. We were challenged a lot with plenty of injuries. We are very happy to be in the finals.

(David) Payne took wickets up top, (Mohammad) Amir bowled well and the way Maxi (Max Holden) and Alex (Hales) batted broke the back of the chase. Hales is such an experienced player. He has played that way all season. Hopefully he can do it one more time. Lockie (Ferguson) has done his hamstring. He has been our captain all season. Hopefully he can be fit and available but I don't really know.

We really appreciate that we have got to the final. It will be a good occasion. We expect the crowd to be buzzing. Hopefully we do play well."
Tim Southee (Sharjah Warriorz Captain): "It is always a tough one, you get as far and give yourself a chance but we scraped through to a defendable score with the bat. We needed to bowl better in the powerplay.

Little bit of a trend throughout this tournament has been that the sides bowling first have done well, we have struggled batting first.

Just a touch (on whether it was tacky) but there bowlers took the pace off really well. Having said that Jason played really well, Karim Janat in the end gave us a chance.

It was a brilliant first experience with ILT20. Was brilliant leading this team."

Time for the post-match presentations..
11:18 IST, 9:48PM LOCAL TIME | Desert Vipers win by 7 wickets and qualify for the finals of ILT20 2025.

Vipers cross the finish line with 15% of the allotted overs remaining and with this thumping victory they have made it clear that the last two games were nothing a but a blip. They get back to winning ways and storm into the finals.

Perhaps, it was a good toss to win. It did seem as if the wicket played a bit differently in both the innings. When the Warriorz batted, it seemed tacky. The ball held up in the surface and did not come on to the bat as nicely as it did for the Vipers. Hence, the Warriorz batting moved along like an old, broken down car — stuttering at every mile of the way. Jason Roy's knock of 73 off 56 balls was the only bright spec. The Englishman was measured in his approach and curbed his instincts for the major part. For the Vipers, Sowter, Tanvir and Payne might have taken two wickets apiece but Mohammad Amir's effort stood above everyone. He picked up an injury in his bowling hand and still braved through the pain to deliver three overs and even dismissed Johnson Charles, who was looking dangerous while he was at the crease. He even wanted a fourth one, but Curran did not think likewise.

Warriorz started off well with the ball with Milne dismissing Gurbaz early. But then, a counter-attack from Hales and some smart batting from Holden at the other end, brought about a shift in momentum. The duo combined to put 71 runs in 71. overs for the second wicket. By the time that partnership was broken, the Vipers were well on their way. After Holden's wicket, Curran and Lawrence got together and ensured that there were no further hiccups. They will now face Dubai Capitals in the final on Sunday.
