Milestone
That's it! This brings curtains to the coverage of tonight's ILT20 clash between Dubai Capitals and Desert Vipers. Do join us tomorrow for another enthralling day of cricket.

This is Arjun Bhalla, signing off on behalf of my colleagues Aditya Agarwal and Zeeshan Naiyer. See you!
Gulbadin Naib ( POTM): " Yeah, basically we were on the bottom of the table and to win the match give us a boost. But still a long way to go for us. The wicket was a bit tricky that is why I took up my time. I just looked for the loose ball and talked with Sikandar constantly. He( Nathan Sowter) is a good bowler, but you are looking for the gaps and luckily we won

I said sorry to Shai Hope after the run-out. I told him that it is a part of the game and luckily I finished the game on behalf of him."
Player of the Match - Gulbadin Naib
Sikandar Raza (Dubai Capitals Captain): "Yeah, we never doubted ourselves at any given moment. If I tell you a true story, last year we made it to the finals, but there was a point where he lost three in a row, and then we won four in a row. I can't blame that as each team has quality, and any team can beat any team on their given day.

So today, I was very happy about our fielding and our attitude. Once I saw that, I was very confident that we'll do well with the ball and bat.

So, when we came in for the first game, we saw that the wicket was very green and tackier. But you know, it's the second game on this pitch today, and it was a bit more barren. Umm, when we came onto the ground, I felt there was a little bit of moisture in the wicket, and as soon as the ball stays new, it would grip and turn. It was turning till the 14th and 15th over. And when I bowled the last over, and I talked to the other guys as well, the turn was gone and it got flatter. That's why we took the heavy roller, so that it does turn anymore.

We have been trying that. We feel that Guli (Gulbadin Naib) is a good form, alongside a few other players. But unfortunately, there are so many power hitter in our lineup, so we need to capitalize accordingly. So we need to shuffle the batting order here and there, so that the batters stay in form. You know, everybody is good, Guli, Dasun, Rauf - these boys are in good form. So we try to make sure that these boys face the majority of the balls.

Catching: I thought we caught very well today.
Lockie Ferguson ( Desert Vipers Captain): " Yeah, tough one. I think we were a few runs short. But I think chances in the field didn't go to us as well. I think they bowled really well with the ball and did not allow us to score runs. We have a day off tomorrow, we will go with a fresh start and start again with zero."
Dispatch of the Day - Sherfane Rutherford
Time for the post-match presentations.
11:22 PM IST and 9:52 PM Local Time | That would be it for Dubai Capitals. They win this lopsided affair by chasing down 140 runs in just 17.3 overs. The Capitals have been the table-toppers to move two spots north to take the second spot

The Desert Vipers lost momentum twice in this game. Ironically, both times, they lost it in the middle phase after having a solid grip in the powerplay overs. Just like in the first innings, they started off with a bang.

Captain Lockie Ferguson bowled his heart out to snap two wickets in his first over, and then Shai Hope gave away his wicket after an utter miscommunication.

With everything going as per the plan, Skipper Ferguson tried to copy Dubai’s ploy and tried to use his spinners to grip the game in the middle phase. But it went against them.

Gulbadin Naib tonked as many as three sixes off a Nathan Sowter over to put the Capitals in the driver’s seat in the chase. From there on, DC never looked behind; Naib completed his fifty (78* off 51 balls) and stitched a match-winning 3rd-wicket stand with his skipper before he took the team home with 3.2 overs to spare with six wickets in hand.

Earlier in the evening, Alex Hales and Dan Lawrence were batting like a dream, scoring runs with ease as they took their second-wicket stand to 58 runs. However, Haider Ali put breaks on that with Hales’ wicket, which initiated a collapse.

The Vipers lost eight wickets for 53 runs off just 8.3 overs. And if not for Sherfane Rutherford’s cameo of 27 lower down the order, they would have folded inside of 100 runs. Although the southpaw’s calculative hitting show took them to 139.

In the end, it didn't matter, as DC toppled them in a game which turned out to be a lopsided affair. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation...
