9:06 PM IST & 7:36 PM Local Time | A massive 10-wicket victory for the Chennai Braves. They register their first win of the season and are finally off the mark on the table after losing their first 6 games.
Here is how the game panned out.
Opting to bowl first, the Braves were a bit expensive with the new ball and were expensive. They did some decent work in the end and did not let the Nawabs finish on a high. Ali Khan and Garuka Sanketh were the pick of the bowlers and picked up a wicket each.
With the bat, the UP Nawabs did bat well and posted a good enough total of 124/4 in their 10 overs. Skipper Rahmanullah Gurbaz was excellent at the top and scored 41 off just 17 balls. The duo of Andre Fletcher and Odean Smith also batted well and scored 23 runs each.
Coming to the chase, It was a one man show from Rassie Van der Dussen. He was all over the UP Nawabs and kept scoring at will. He remained unbeaten on 92* off just 41 balls and sealed the game for his side. Josh Brown was also decent at the other end and assisted him well by scoring 21* off 17.
With the ball, the Nawabs will not be happy with their bowling unit. They did have enough runs on the board to bowl at but still failed to pick up a single wicket. They looked pretty ordinary tonight and will look to bounce back strongly in the last game.
