That will be all from our side as we wrap up our coverage of this Super Smash contest between the Auckland Aces and the Otago Volts. For now, it's Soumarya Dutta signing off on behalf of Darpan Tikiya and our scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. See you soon!
Sean Solia (Auckland Aces Captain) - " We posted a decent score that we were happy to give the bowlers a good chance of defending. Adithya Ashok was fantastic and our seamers bowled well after the powerplay. It is a good wicket out here. Historically, people love to chase. But we thought, why not put runs on the board. Ashok has gone from strength to strength. Really good to see his progress. Every game for us is a must win. That is the mindset we have. Hopefully we can make it to the finals."
Luke Georgeson(Otago Volts Captain) - " I thought 197 was a par score on this track but Ashok came in and bowled a terrific spell. He spun it both ways and we failed to pick him up. We were ahead of them at the 10 over mark but lost the game in the middle overs. We will have to win our next game and put ourselves in a position to go to the final next week. "
Adithya Ashok (Auckland Aces) - " It was nice to contribute to the win and glad that we are still in the hunt. Things happen and it's in the nature of the game. We didn't panic after they got a good start in the powerplay. We tried to control the game in the middle overs and it worked for us. The googly is my trade secret and it's one of the more difficult ones to pick up."

11:54 AM IST, 7:24 LOCAL TIME | Auckland Aces win by 69 runs.
The Aces have now registered two comprehensive wins in a row that not only helps them garner points, but also makes amends to their net run rate. As a result, they now move up to the third spot on the points table.
Until about half an hour or so ago, it seemed as if the run chase was poised for a tight finish. Glenn Phillips and Llew Johnson had both got good starts and had together put up over 30 runs in less than 20 balls for the third wicket. But then, Glenn Phillips hit one straight to the fielder and the game turned on its head. Otago Volts went from being 107/2 to 128 all out.
Adithya Ashok was the wrecker in-chief. He exhibited great control over his line and length, varied his trajectory with every other ball and the Volts made the task of picking his googlies look like rocket science. Simon Keene and Danru Ferns picked up two wickets apiece too.
Earlier, Mark Chapman's sparkling fifty had guided the hosts to a good total. The tone was set early by skipper Sean Solia who opened the innings in the absence of Martin Guptill and hit six boundaries in 10 balls to get the team off to a rollicking start. Bevon Jacobs chipped in with a 37 and Jock McKenzie and Lachlan Stackpole played effervescent cameos to take the Aces to 197/6. For Otago, left arm pacer Andrew Hazeldine was the pick of the bowlers and finished with figures of 4-0-19-2 against his name. Special mention to Dale Phillips, who scored a vigorous 25-ball-40 for the Volts and was at the receiving end of a controversial decision from the umpire.
W TAKEN AND THAT WILL BE THE GAME FOR THE AUCKLAND ACES. THEY WIN BY 69 RUNS! FERNS HAS TAKEN JUST A COUPLE OF WICKETS TO FINISH THINGS OFF! It was a full delivery and bowled at stumps by Ferns. Bacon picked it up and looked to whip it away using his bottom hand over deep mid wicket. He didn't get the distance and ended up hitting it straight to the fielder in the deep. Simon Keene made no mistake and the Otago Volts were bundled out for 128 in just 16.2 overs.
