Chad Bowes (Game Changer of the Match):"It's a good foundation that we got. We were lacking in that and this game, we made a good comeback getting the momentum. In this game, we were clear about executing our ideas. A bit of relief is what we got after this match. We know how good a side we are but a momentum was needed. Hopefully we can carry forward with this momentum.
We have got a clinical victory in every facets of the game. This will help. We have a week time before appearing in our next game in Napier. We will get a good time to train and get back in the match gears.
I am quite satisfied with my game today. I've been fickle for some time but I did a good execution today."
Game Changer of the Match: Chad Bowes
1:46 PM IST, 9:16 PM LOCAL TIME | Canterbury Kings win by 41 runs.
Friday evening has brought about a turn of fortunes for the Canterbury Kings, who bask in the sliver glow of the Christchurch moon after registering their first win of the season. What's more? It is a comprehensive one that will further help them amend their net run rate.
It was set up by an assertive knock of 59 (off 31 balls) from Chad Bowes up top. The right-hander further impressed us all with his agile glove work in the second innings. Michael Rippon too made a valuable contribution down the order with a 30-ball-44. Unlike Bowes' knock, Rippon's innings was characterized more by effervescent running between the wickets than crisp strokes to the boundaries. Though, the Aces pulled things back towards the fag end of the innings to keep them down to 173/9, from what looked like a possible 200+ at one stage.
However, in the end, the score proved to be enough. The Aces innings went nowhere. They lost the wicket of O'Donnell early, following which Martin Guptill was hit on the helmet that broke open the seam of the ball. The replacement ball did a lot more and the Kings's bowler used it well. Sclanders and Solia registered scratchy scores of 20-odd each and the run chase was nothing but a slow burn.
Zakary Foulkes and Michael Rae picked up three wickets each, while Kyle Jamieson returned an impressive 1/20 in his four overs. Eventually, Auckland end up far short of the target and even their net run rate takes a good hit.

0 That will be it !! Fuller length delivery on middle stump line, Fern looked to slog it but gets a bit of an inside edge which doesn't go anywhere. End of the Game.
19.5 M Rae to D Ferns
2 Fuller than good length outside off stump. Ferns swings his bat but mistimes and it lands in the deep cover area for two runs.
19.5 M Rae to D Ferns
WD That's a fine slower bouncer but it's a wide. Short of length ball at the middle stump. Ferns swings his bat but he gets beaten by it completely and it goes over his head.
